Parking impacted due to the Legacy Restoration Fund Project
The Lower Farm parking lot near the Mule Barn is closed due to the Legacy Restoration Fund Project. The Upper parking lot located near the Orangery has reduced capacity due to a partial closure because of the Legacy Restoration Fund Project. We do not mail Junior Ranger books; please download from site. Completed books may be submitted digitally. Junior Ranger badges may be mailed once per person per calendar year after completion. We do not mail completed books back.

The Visitor Contact Station is open 9am – 4pm Thursday through Sunday.
Grounds are open every day from dawn to dusk.
Park is closed every year on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.
The park, or portions of the park, may be closed at any time for weather, emergency, or security reasons in order to protect the resource, visitors, and staff. Park gates may also be closed during these situations. View alerts to see any closings.

The Hampton Visitor Contact Station is located right next to the main lot on the mansion side of the park. The contact station, historic structures, and interpretive operations are open Thursdays - Sundays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Hampton National Historic Site preserves what remains of a once 25,000-acre enslavement plantation. For hundreds of years, enslaved people, indentured servants, tenant farmers, paid laborers, and the Ridgely family all made their own contributions to Hampton, creating a space where cruelty and decadence collide to provide a complex history of the United States.
